Born and raised in Sydney, Australia and of Palestinian origin Ali Banat was a successful and self-made businessman by the age of 29, living a life of abundance and luxury. Ali Banat’s story is one of profound transformation. Upon receiving a terminal diagnosis, Ali reflected deeply on his life and realised that material wealth alone could not define his legacy. Confronted with the stark reality of his limited time on earth, Ali made a bold decision. Instead of succumbing to despair, he chose to embrace his diagnosis as an opportunity to make a significant impact on the world and invest in his afterlife.
In 2016, Ali sold everything he had and embarked on a journey to Togo, marking the beginning of the Muslims Around The World Project. Using his own wealth, Ali started by feeding and supporting orphans and widows in the most impoverished communities. He invested in agricultural tools and tractors, empowering communities to cultivate their land and achieve self-sufficiency. He constructed water wells to provide clean drinking water, built mosques for spiritual solace, and schools to educate and nurture the young.
What began as a personal mission in Togo has blossomed into a global movement. Today, MATW operates in over 20 countries, providing essential aid and support to the most vulnerable populations. Ali Banat’s legacy has touched the lives of more than 90 million people, offering hope, sustenance, and opportunities for a brighter future.
