A mother in centralChinahas broken a record in the country after giving birth to a 15.52 pound (7.04 kilogram) baby.
According to the Tianjin Post, the 29-year-old mother in theHenanprovince gave birth to the boy by caesarean section.
The delivery of Chun Chun took 20 minutes and both mother and the boy are doing fine.
The baby’s weight came to a surprise to the parents, despite the pair being of average size and the mother’s normal pregnancy and diet.
According to the Guiness World Records, the heaviest newborn ever recorded weighed 23.7 pounds (10.77 kilograms) and was born to anOhiowoman in 1879.
