Neear Hussain Bukhari Chairman Senate Pakistan expressed these feelings that the open environment we are living in today is the result of the sacrifices of hundreds of thousands of supporters of Pakistan Movement, the visionary and selfless leadership of the Founder of Pakistan Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the vision of Allama Muhammad Iqbal. On this Independence Day we must all firmly undertake a solemn pledge to work for the betterment, progress and prosperity of the country putting aside all our inclinations to different creeds and dogmas and thus lay the foundations of a truly progressive Pakistan. We shall have to show to the world our green flag with a crescent and the star as a symbol of peace and work sincerely and harder to keep intact, strong and unified Pakistan according to the aspirations of our great leaders Quaid e Azam and Allama Iqbal. He was expressing these sentiments as the Chief Guest in a program held on Pakistan Independence Day by the Banat-ul-Muslmeen and the British-Pakistan Professional Council.
The program was presided over by Lord Mayer Birmingham, Syed Shafiq Hussain Shah Kazmi.In this event Pakistan Achievement Awards UK & Europe was also bestowed with an Award for valuable services rendered to Pakistan.
Chairman Senate Pakistan and the Chief Guest Syed Neear Hussain Bukhari told the audience that the Pakistani overseas have acquired their respect in this society through their hard work and valuable services. These people have been placed on such offices as of Member Parliament, Member House of Lords and Lord Mayers just by dint of their services and sincerest efforts. It is never a child’s play to secure such positions in a foreign country. We are happy and satisfied with the achievements of the Pakistani community to see them successful. Today I find here the people belonging to all segments of society, sitting together in peace and prosperity. They go abroad with the sole mission to secure economic wellbeing but they also contribute to their country in the form of overseas remittances. Besides overseas community is helping and facilitating the country in encouraging business and ambassadorial ties. Whenever there is a report on law and order situation in Pakistan, more than people living in the country it is you people who are more concerned. Sometimes report are not true which increase in tensions. He further told that this year more than 250 Members of the Parliament belonging to 41 Asian countries participated in the conference and I invited their attention to look for themselves the on ground conditions in Pakistan and how they are reported. He said: ‘In other countries including America there are no incidents of torture and terrorism, no killings in schools, no sabotage activities in business markets or activities are not jeopardised at economic centres. In oder to analyse the conditions in Pakistan we must recall the times of 30 year back when America and the West had a confrontation and Pakistan became the front-line state. Today again Pakistan had to play the role of front-line state to provide them support. They continue repeating the phrase’ Do more’ for us but never think that it was their war but we here have to pay the price of being part of them. It is an imposed war on us with no fault of ours. In the end now the government has decided to end up this war by lauching direct action agaist all the fighting elements who are the root cause of unrest in the country. mWe are hopeful that Allah shall ‘inshallah’ honour our efforts with victory.‘
Chairman Senate Sued Neear Bukhari on this occasion also said that you have to face numerous problems at the hands of PIA, Airport Authority, Bureaucracy, land mafias and the politicians but if anyone comes to us with evidence and proof, we shall definitely take action against the culprits. Rather I shall constitute a committee to look into the matters. But you must all keep in touch with your country. Other speakers on the event included Member Parliament Khalid Mehmood, Lord Qurban Hussain, Mayer Milton Kenes Subhan Malik, Mayer Hyde Burn Musfadad Khan, council General Pakistan Sher Bhadur Khan, Vice Council Faisal Abro, Zahid Chaudhry, Sumera Furrakh, Syed Tassawar Naqvi, Shabnum, Abid Kazmi, Nighat Zaidi, Ali Mohsin Hashmi, Sara Khan, Rana Ishrat Hussain, Nasir Khan, Akram Gill, Nazir Awan. Besides, a number of significant Pakistani and Kashmiri personalities belonging to various fields of professionalism, counsellors, and political leaders, religious and social leaders also participated in this program. In the end the Chairman Pakistan Achievement Awards thanked Banat-ul-Muslmeen, British-Pakistani Professional Council and Chairman Senate Pakistan for conferring award in recognition of Pakistan Achievement Awards UK & Europe’s services to the nation and Pakistan.
