A Mosque in Small Heath, by the name of ‘Green Lane’ was broken into during an attempted midnight robbery. The culprit who was eventually caught by Head Imam, Qari Zakaullah Saleem, ran off before he could cause any more damage. However the man did break a window as well as a number of donation boxes, but a representative from the mosque insists he could not have taken a large amount out, seeing as the boxes are emptied on a regular basis. The Imam recognised the culprit through the CCTV footage produced and the matter is now being dealt with by West Midlands Police. On releasing a statement on their Facebook page they said ‘We urge our local community to be vigilant at all times and if you have any information in regards to this matter please do not hesitate to contact the Centre Manager. Please make Dua this man is apprehended quickly before he carries out another crime. We will keep you updated as and when appropriate Insha’Allah’.
