Members of the England women’s cricket team will be meeting International Development Minister Desmond Swayne and two Bangladeshi girl cricketers, ahead of the UK’s Girl Summit.
They will informally discuss issues around sport, women’s empowerment and forced marriage. The photocall comes the day before the Girl Summit 2014. Co-hosted by the UK Government and UNICEF, the summit will call for action to end female genital mutilation (FGM) and child, early & forced marriage (CEFM) in the UK and developing world.
Where: MCC Museum, Lord’s Cricket Ground, NW8 8QN. When: Monday 21 July 2014: 10 to 10.30am. The visit will conclude before the start of play on day five of the 2nd Investec Test Match between England and India at Lord’s. Pictures: England women’s players, with young Bangladeshi cricketers and Development Minister Desmond Swayne – at the MCC Museum, and / or the Coronation Garden depending on weather.
