The weekend of 14th of September, the most important fashion event in Britain happened; London fashion week. This year Asian world was honoured to be invited to a unique off schedule show;YesFashion. The event showcased fourteen international designers; Alan Hayden London, Anoosh, Haute fashion, Jenhan Couture, John Peter London, Kenguru, Laura Moore, Leeane Ripley Garett, Lotus Blue, Nataliya Dolenko, ,Rosie Benjamin, Vander Vadher, Yes London and 7 Camicie as well as two exhibitioners Nina L’allure and The dressing room.

For some designers this would be the first and most vital exhibition of their collection in London. The desire of success was written on the faces of the designers, as they paced back and forth, perfecting the tiniest detail from early morning till 9:30 at night. Not for a moment did the designers, neither the YesFashion team nor the hostess Lady K AKASavita Kaye, take a break.

This was debut for Yesfashion, who aim to bring the world’s fashion to your doorstep. The motto: ‘YesFashion… Your Fashion’ is what the organisation is actively promoting through its events and on-going activities.
YesFashion is collaborating with Cancer Research UK to raise funds to help such a charity.

Waiting in wings of the runway, for the show to begin, one couldn’t help to notice how beautiful the environment had been created, sheer white chiffon falls from the ceiling creating the ambience of serenity and heaven. One felt as though something magically was about to happen.

Minutes before the show began, more people poured into the venue filling all seats. Even if there were none, the fashion lovers watched from afar gasping and applauding the collections. The moment the first model walked the runway all eyes were on her.

7 Camicie and Haute Fashion

Anoosh and Laura Moor

Nataliya Dolenko and Jehan Couture

All collections here bold and beautiful, each crafting to its demographic but something all can enjoy. YesFashion was different in that, this event not only showed women’swear but men’stoo; designer such as 7 Camicie showcased only their menswear. 7 Camicie entertained the audience with an electrifying routine, showcasing the comfortably of the clothing. The brand created a twist on the modern shirts by playing with prints and colours. Stewart Phillips, an internationally known hair dresser also graced the catwalk for 7 Camicie.

Alan Hayden London also designed attire for the men that played colour. The shirts were different that ever seen before on a runway, the details of the shirt could be altered at any time, changed the colour of stripes, collar etc from red to pink.

Though all designers were great, the couture work presented was magnificent. Jehan Couture, inspired by the idea of making every woman into a goddess graced the runway in an angelic, breath taking pieces. Vander Vadher, the only Asian/ British designer, a Birmingham university graduate, had a collection that was modern but broke the barriers between the Asian and western world;influences of both were present. Her work contained office wear, ready to wear and couture.

The theme of hippie chic was seen to be popular and could be seen in Jehan Couture, Rosie Benjamin, NataliyaDolenko. Pastels tones that Rosie Benjamin and Nataliya Dolenko presented will be in fashion all season. The designers were similar, in that the clothing was soft and nature oriented.

The ready to wear collection by such as Laura Moore, a limited edition brand had a quirky collection. Unlike Dolenko and Benjamin these were not designed for the mellow, free spirited woman. The influence of Rhianna’sDisturbia video played a huge part. Hence the work was much edgier

The designer that had caused the most anticipation however was Leeane Ripley Garett,Lady K wore a purple dress of hers whilst introducing the collection. Being one of the few rare designers to be asked to design a dress for Kate Middleton’s wedding, high expectations were aroused. Which were all lived up to, the audience talked much after the night of her collection.

The finale, Anoosh was a particular hair raiser, his work was awed by all, causing a wave if discussion amongst the crowd.
By having designers from all over the world meant having a show that was extra exciting, to see the colours and felts of Budapest against the tailored suits of London echoed the aim of YesFashion; to create unison in the fashion world.

Lady K, a woman that has conquered the entertainment industry, the radio world and now has arrived in fashion. Given the job as head of production earlier in April, Lady K was adamant to create a universal platform for all designers.
We are here with Lady K at DoubleTree Hilton for the Yes fashion week, could you tell us a bit about that?
This is actual debut for Yes Fashion, we are debuting at the prestigious week of London Fashion week as an off schedule show. We’ll be exhibiting 13th international designers today from 3:30 in the afternoon till 9 at night, so it will be quite long.

When did your interest in fashion begin?
I’ve always been interested in fashion, I’m bit of corporate lass, and I’ve dealt with many big companies and various charities. It was a transition that just happened in life, I started writing for a fashion magazine, it developed from there as I began doing PR, and I’m a radio DJ aswell. I was given this project back in April, as head of production for this London Fashion week off schedule event.
Why did chose do a show that showcases Asian talent as well?
To be honest fashion is for everyone, the motto is Yes Fashion is your fashion. What we are trying to do today, especially today is; which will give Yes Fashion it’s unique selling point is that we want to bring the worlds fashion to everyone’s doorstep. And it doesn’t matter whether you’re from Europe or whether you’re from India or Australia, anywhere around the world we will bring fashion to you.
Do you it is important to combine both worlds in the current climate today?
Yes definitely, It is not just one particular area or culture interested in fashion At Lakme fashion week, the collections were breath taking. It’s not something you will find in like the US. I would love to take Yes Fashion to Dubai or India. I am in talks with certain representatives in Dubai at the moment but India will be a tough market to crack.
Which designer is looking forward to most?
There are thirteen of them from around the world and I’m looking forward to all thirteen of them. They are all very, very different. I’m excited to see all thirteen of them.

Kenguru, owner of Budapest fashion week.
How does fashion in Hungary and London differ?
It’s different; people in Budapest are not so fashion conscious. It’s not a big part. London is more fashionable. I love London.

The brand launched in 1994 how has your brand expanded?
I’m one road, on the way. I have done Budapest fashion week regularly. I’ve done shows in Romania. I like to do what I want, I don’t follow trends or colours. So yeah, I’m on my way.

Jehan couture

The collection was beautiful, ver elegant and classy, what was your inspiration?
it was that every woman embodies there inner goddess and bring out there great ness and beauty through clothing. Everyone woman as a child dreams of being a princess, but actually never live that life. My dresses a method of helping them live that life.
Your models were the only ones barefoot?
it was the Goddess collection, it was literally about being earthy and embodying who you are and feeling comfortable with what you wear. Normally you see beautiful dresses and shoes but I only wanted to bring attention to the clothing.
Blue the colour is fashion?
Blue comes in and out of fashion all the time, actually most colours are in fashion. I don’t actually follow fashion. As a designer, what I do is create something that brings out the clients personality and brings out their colours, basically brings out who they are. It’s not about what people want you to wear it’s what your heart wants to wear.

How did you find today’s event?
I found it very good, it was very well organised. Saviyta did an amazing job, she was great hostess. It was great, really good.
What do you think of the designer you were modelling for Anoosh?
Anoosh was amazing, I enjoyed the whole process, he had some fabulous creations. It was very different, very edgy, very couture.
What about your own outfit your wearing?
It’s maybe not something I would wear, there are other outifts I would wear but I do love this.
Apart from Anoosh which other designers stood out for you?
I did like a lot of them, it was all very impressive.

AnnalieseDayes, the fabulous host.

How are you finding today’s event?
It’s been absolutely great, I didn’t realise I would be hosting all the way but to be honest I am more than happy to as it is a great platform for the designers.

Have any designers stood out to you?
I have to biased, Leeane Ripley Garett, I have always thought that her dresses are so wearable. I can see them in the shop tomorrow, that’s how great she is. I think they make all women just look stunning.
If there was one item you would buy what would you buy?
Leeane has got some very cute, little black dresses. Every woman needs a little black dress in her wardbrode. Any of leeanesoulddo the job to be honest.
What about the men, what did you think of that?
O.M.G the men are on fire! I saw toplessness once at one point. People were starting to sweat, they looked good but those shirts look better on them!
How did you find Britan’s next top model?
I think Britan’s next top model was an interesting experience it was definitely a while ago and I’ve learnt so much from it. Stuff I could take on into America’ next top model and just help me develop myself and learn from all my mistakes.
When can we see you on Americans next to model?
America’s next top model will be airing on sky living this coming October, the date we have no clue yet but will be some time in October.
