Shahid Kapoor plays Muslim for the first time in reincarnation romance
Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra will be joining forces again in Kunal Kohli’s upcoming romance flick Teri Meri Kahaani.
The film is set in three different decades spanning from 1910 and 2012 and is about soul mates who take three births.
Shahid plays a Muslim poet Javed in 1910, struggling musician Givind in 1960 and finally Krish in 2012.
The actor’s mother even told reporters which version of her son’s character she liked the most.
“When I saw the promos, I loved all three looks, but I am excited about him playing Javed, as it is a first for him (playing a Muslim character), which is exciting,” she said.
“It is not just about playing a Muslim character, but Javed is an attractive, flamboyant man and Shahid has performed the role brilliantly.
“His look in the 1960s is cute and innocent while the one in 2012 is crazy. The film looks promising.”
Onscreen lover Priyanka will be playing a Punjabi kudi named Rukhsar in 1910, an actress Radha in 1960 and then modern woman Aradhana in 2012.
