PR Guru to the stars, Birmingham born Asian woman Kully is not just a pioneer in her industry but plays many pivotal roles in her life including being a devoted mother of two and loving daughter.
She has been working in the PR business for a solid ten years, and she has grown in popularity and demand just like the stars she represents, Kully has built a formidable representation and has a concrete work ethic.
Artists kully has worked with from Metz & Trixs, Taz, Gurdas Mann, Asha Bhosle
Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgan amongst others.
One f the reasons Kully believes she is in demand is because she really cares for her clients “I take a personal interest in all my clients from their health wellbeing to their image”.
She went on to say she gets involved in all stages of the project/artist she is working with from advice, production and even casting.
The best moment for Kully so far is working with the Punjabi music legend Gurdas Mann, she said he is so professional “his management is very good which always reflects on the artist”.
Kullys successes come in many forms one is via her children who she has raised single handily, her son has just qualified as a solicitor and daughter is at university; this is one of Kullys greatest achievements.
“Being a full time single mother who had come out of an abusive marriage was hard so trying to start a PR company was a tall order, and required a lot of time and skill”, Kully said, “children are a reflection on you in the world”. So it is important to invest time on them and make sure they are your everything and more you want them to be.”
Asian World asked Kully when her big break came, she said when she was asked to help the artist Taz on a film; she did such a good job, that word spread and more and more artists and high profile people approached her, and her new venture took off from there.
Kullys Advice for ambitious young PR Gurus is…
• Don’t run before you can walk
• Always work as part of a team then against people
• Hold yourself well in this line of work.
Kully 5 years on…
• Expand the company
• To be the biggest event management and corporate events business
• Represent more artists and corporate clients
• Bring more Bollywood films to Birmingham
Kully seems to not reach for the starts but aim to be one, in her industry.
