Tonight’s edition of Channel 4’s Cops and Robbers documentary series will not be broadcast until later in the year after one of the individuals who was due to feature in this week’s programme was arrested for a serious sexual offence.
The 31-year-old man was arrested at an address in Birmingham and has been bailed to appear at Birmingham North police station in October. The offence is alleged to have taken place against a 25-year-old woman at an address in north Birmingham.
The individual who was arrested did not feature in last week’s episode of the four-part observational documentary, which looks at the challenging work of the Offender Management Unit of Dudley and Birmingham North LPUs.
For the first time, the force has opened its doors to show how − with the help of partners – it is leading the way in trying to steer offenders away from a life of crime and cut reoffending rates.
