Abdullah is a community activist who has dedicated most of his life to helping and supporting people and organisations in his local community. So when this dedication was recognised by the Prime Minister Abduallah was left speechless.
It all started back in 2007 when the now Prime Minster David Camera then leader of the conservative party visited Abdulallah and his organisation the Basal Heath Forum after hearing a lot of good things about the work they did.
The PM was so impressed by Abdullah that he arranged to stay with him and his family at his house as leader of the Conservative party in May 2007 as he wanted to understand how Balsall Heath has turned from the streets being run by drug dealers and pimps to residents fighting to reclaim back the neighborhood.
Abdullah said “We took him around to the local shops and even made him serve at some of the local corner shops including money saver and raja brother on the ladypool road”. Abudullah said the PM ATE Roti and curry with him and other community members at his home. Abdullah said “David Cameron loved the food and had a really enjoyable discussion with the guests at my house”.
The iterney of the PM’s stay was something Abdullah does on a daily basis, he said “the next day after breakfast (He ate Weetabix) we dropped my children to school where Mr Cameron took the school assembly after which we went on to clean up a local football pitch and a car-park on ladypool road”.
Abdullah left a lasting impression on the PM, so much so that Britain’s most powerful leader Abdullah, by writing to him and his daughters and inviting him to big events and conferences.
Abdullah Call Prime Minster David Cameron DM, for short ad has said “Since he has become Pm we have met twice. I got invited to the Hyatt Hotel on the day of the 2010 Conservative party conference and was honoured to be a guest in the his room with 6-7 other guests and were treated to a fantastic buffet, and while talking to the Pm he mentioned that he would talk about Balsall Heath in his conference speech, which he did and said how inspiring we were as a community”.
Abdullah last met with the PM at this year’s party conference where the DM acknowledged his Basal Heath forum friend with a brief hello.
Abdullah said the whole experience has left him overwhelmed and humbled and believes he PM will be back to see him again “I am sure he will be back”.
Abdullah’s next visit to see his friend THE British Prime Minister, will be at 1-0 Downing Streets Eid-Ul-Adha 2012 Party.
