April 2012 will see the releases of a large variety of movies in Hindi cinema. Here we take a look at the biggest and most anticipated films that most fans will be eager to see…

Ever since the announcement from Sajid Khan about preparation for shooting, fans have been waiting with great excitement and anticipation for the second addition to the hit comedy Housefull. Housefull 2 will again see Akshay Kumar and Ritesh Deshmukh alongside John Abraham, Asin, Shreyas Talpade, Rishi Kapoor and many other familiar faces. The con is on again for Kumar and Deshmukh’s two troublesome characters as they attempt to get married to three rich girls by posing as rich bachelors. Item girl Malika Arora will also be providing a song and dance number in the film. The film’s budget was worth 40 crores, equivalent to 9.8 million US dollars and is expected to be largely successful at Box Office like the first instalment was.

Released 23rd of March but screening through the whole of April will be Srriam Raghavan’s Agent Vinod, a suspense thriller with an impressive cast consisting of real life sweethearts Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor alongside Prem Chopra, Ram Kapoor and Gulshan Grover. Costing 60 Crores, equivalent to 11.97 million US Dollars, the film is a mixture of action, romance and thrills. Saif Ali Khan taking on the role of a James Bond themed character, this time representing India, is out on a mission to crack codes, kill villains and keep his country and its people safe. Khan also took on the role as producer of the film. The film shares the same name to that of a 1977 film starring Mahendra Sandhu though Khan and the film’s director Srrian Raghavan has stated that Agent Vinod is not a remake os this production though the themes may be similar.

Also out this month is Vikram Bhatt’s Hate Story. What looks to be a controversial and very adult drama, focuses on corruption, deception and danger within business. Following the story of a woman bribed and abused by men she works with, Hate Story takes a bold, risky yet in depth look at dark themes and the effects it can have on people. Bhatt’s casting list contains no high profile names however from looking at trailers the actors used portray their characters in an impressive enough way to help in making this an intriguing yet dark drama. Hate Story is due for release in the UK on April 20th.

It seems a slight theme of comedy if flowing among Hindi cinema this month. Also out for release is comedy Tension Matt le Yaar starring old time favourite’s Om Puri and Dilip Tahil as well as Bittoo Boss starring Pulkit Samrat and Amita Pathak in the lead roles. With hope, the comedy fever hitting screens this month shall be successful with Bollywood fans.
