The average price of a home has risen by £5,992 since last year

Since last year April, the average cost of homes in Birmingham has only increased by 3.3%, which is the slowest rate in more than five years. The last time the rate was this slow was in the year to August 2013 where there was only an increase of 2.7%.

In the UK, the average house prices have increased by 1.4% in the year running up to April 2019. Due to a slowdown in the south and east of England, the price growth in UK houses has been slow over the past three years.

London held the lowest annual growth, where prices fell by 1.2% over the year coming up to March 2019. While these prices fell, the capital still remains the most expensive area in the country to purchase a property.
