The first-ever Bayt Al Fann international Digital Festival exploring the future of Islamic art, heritage and culture is launching this November. A unique celebration with over 50 contributors and panellists across diverse disciplines, Bayt Al Fann Digital Festival is a virtual global gathering, with performances, online exhibitions and conversations.


The Islamic Art & Culture Digital Festival takes place on 28 & 29 November 2022 and marks the first anniversary since the launch of baytalfann.com – a platform dedicated to raising the profile and celebrating the diversity of Islamic art, heritage and culture.

Bayt Al Fann’s story so far…

Founded by a small collective of artists, Bayt Al Fann was built on a passion and determination to raise the profile of Islamic art, heritage and culture. With no public funding or income, the project has been self-led and sustained by the collective to date.

Arabic for Art House, Bayt Al Fann, is a multidisciplinary digital platform – a global home for artists, creatives, thinkers and communities to collaborate, connect and co-create the future of Islamic art and culture. The Bayt Al Fann platform launched on November 15 2021, with hopes and aspirations to build a community connected through an interest and appreciation of Islamic art, culture and heritage.


The platform engages with the public through its social media campaigns and series of conversations with artists and experts. To date, Bayt Al Fann has worked with over 300 artists, creatives, curators and academics. Collaborations with a wide range of professionals from esteemed institutions include The V&A Museum in London, The Islamic Museum of Australia, History of Science Museum part of the University of Oxford, The San Diego Museum of Art, The Chester Beatty in Dublin, The Aga Khan Museum, The Khalili Collections, The Emirates Festival of Literature, The University of Michigan, Zayed University in Abu Dhabi, Duke University in North Carolina and more.


Since launching in November 2021, Bayt Al Fann’s social media following has grown to over 100,000 followers across Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. The quick organic growth across social media is evidenced through its engaging informative, inspiring and imaginative content. Bayt Al Fann has gained a reputation for creating viral Twitter threads, which regularly receive thousands of likes and retweets. A growing number of posts have received in excess of 10,000,000+ impressions.


Bayt Al Fann Digital Festival…


Over two days artists, academics, writers, thinkers, philosophers and communities will come together through critical discourse and conversation on the past, present and future of Islamic culture at Bayt Al Fann Digital Festival.


The festival will present Islamic art and culture in the most positive and engaging way possible, Over 50 contributors to the festival, leading in the fields of art, design, archaeology, literature, education and heritage, will discuss and present their perspectives on Islamic art and culture. The contributors are well known in their respective fields and have a combined following of over 1,000,000 across social media platforms.


Bayt Al Fann is a house for everyone, Muslim and non-Muslim to explore and reimagine the future of Islamic art together. The first ever digital festival marks an important moment in digital culture, where Islamic art and heritage will be profiled on a global scale.

Bayt Al Fann Digital Festival is being held in partnership with The Arts Marketing Association (AMA), through technical support and coordination. As part of their Digital Stage Management service, AMA is building the online platform for the festival, rehearsing with and managing speakers, facilitating and hosting sessions and providing technical trouble-shooting to attendees and festival staff.
