One area where consumers can help the planet is through ethical shopping and using their often undervalued “power of the wallet”. Consumers have real power and massive influence over brands and the direction which products pursue.

Numerous websites and apps have launched in recent years offering advice about where to buy ethical products. Ethical shopping helps in areas such as animal welfare protection, environmental protection – including through raised awareness, encouraging responsible agriculture, increasing recycling rates, promoting a healthy lifestyle and lastly but not least the protection of workers’ rights, wages and standards of living.

Bazar takes ethical shopping to the next level by providing a “dedicated” Ethical sustainable marketplace. Bazar is a dedicated marketplace specifically for artisans, micro-sellers and brands to promote and sell their products alongside the community base selling their pre-loved items. We met with Finley Cope, the founder of Bazar to explore what his ethical mobile marketplace app has to offer. We asked Finley, “So what is Bazar exactly?” Finley explained “Bazar is a mobile ethical app marketplace. It’s available via mobile phones in an app format. Bazar suits the modern “app savvy” shopper who can choose from a large selection of ethical products from a massive selection of brands”.

Recently Bazar have produced an infographic entitled “How to shop ethically with the Bazar Shopping App”. We asked Finley, “Why did Bazar create this infographic?” Finley replied, “Infographics convey information in a visual format, which is easy to digest for readers. We thought it was important to create this infographic to explain how easy the Bazar app is to use and how it helps with ethical shopping.

Finley went on to say “Bazar is different in a number of ways to other ethical shopping providers. One way is that we are accessed through a mobile app, which gives modern-day consumers a tool they can always use at their finger-tips, wherever they are, 24×7. We felt it was important to categorise the shopping areas, so users could find exactly what they needed as quickly as possible. This linked with various integrated areas of search functionality makes finding the exact product users want a much easier and rewarding experience”.

As can be seen from the infographic above, Bazar has created twelve main shopping categories, to simplify product searching for users. These categories are – Biodegradable, Cruelty free, Eco-friendly, Fairtrade, Fair Wear, Natural label, Organic, Palm oil free, Pesticide free, Recyclable, Sustainable and Vegan. Fuller details of all these categories are available in the infographic and by visiting https://www.bazarapp.co.uk. Commenting Finley said: “Following our extensive research, these twelve categories were definitely the ones, which best sub-categorise ethical shopping into its many parts. Whilst, we are sure that Bazar users will be interested in all of the categories their particular visit will often be with a particular product type in mind. The categories help very much with narrowing down product selections.”
