The relaunched British Motor Show has already been shortlisted for an award, a whole seven months before the show itself is due to take place.
The show, which returns as an international event in 2020, has been shortlisted in the Thames Valley Business and Community Awards through its organisers, Automotion Events Ltd, in the ‘New Start-Up’ category.
Automotion was one of nearly 500 businesses considered for the awards and one of just nine to make the shortlist in its category. The awards will be presented at a special ceremony in Reading on January 30th.
Christina Briggs, former Director of External Affairs for Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce was part of the judging panel. She said: “Judging this year’s awards was tough. Every entry was of a very high standard and each one was unique which made the decision harder. I’m very proud of the quality of businesses that we have in this region and these awards give them the true recognition that they deserve.”
Taking place at the vast Farnborough International exhibition centre in Hampshire from August 20 to 23, the British Motor Show will not only focus on great value family fun and petrolhead entertainment, but will also allow visitors in the market for a new vehicle to compare vehicles, test drive, buy cars, lease cars, get their own motors valued and even drive away on the day.
Andy Entwistle, CEO of Automotion Ltd and British Motor Show Director, said: “Bringing a proper national Motor Show back to the UK to compete on the international stage is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.
“With the concept we have for the British Motor Show I’m confident we have created a truly amazing and inspiring event which will demonstrate the best the UK car industry has to offer and already we’ve got the backing of some big manufacturers. To be shortlisted for an award this early on gives us even more confidence that we’re creating a truly unrivalled event.”
The organisers are expecting over 50,000 visitors through the doors between August 20th-23rd, dates which have been chosen to coincide with school holidays and make it as accessible as possible for all visitors.
Tickets for the show will represent terrific value at £18.50 for adults or £37 for families with up to three children.
