The Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team surprised the Milan public, ahead of the Monza Grand Prix this weekend, by running its F1 car around the streets of Viale D’Annunzio for the opening “F1 Unleash”.  Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio, the pinnacle of the current Alfa Romeo range, followed hot-lapping on the same course, with the spectacular parade ending in Piazza XXIV Maggio.

The free-to-attend “F1 Unleash” event runs until 1st September as a warm up for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.  The public are invited to the Fan Village where they can see the current Alfa Romeo Sauber showcar alongside the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio “NRING”, a limited-edition model created to celebrate the records set by the brand on the famous Nürgburgring circuit in Germany.

The Monza Grand Prix on the circuit near Milan is one of the Formula 1 World Championship classics and is inextricably linked to the history of Alfa Romeo. The Alfa Romeo 158 driven by Nino Farina won the first race in 1950, paving his way to the championship title, while his team mate Luigi Fagioli took third place in that inaugural race.  This season marks the return of Alfa Romeo to Formula 1, so this special event in the heart of Milan is taking on an even deeper meaning, strengthening the bonds that exist between the brand, the city and the racing world surrounded by excited crowds.
