MG Motor UK is furthering its promise to keep customers mobile during the coronavirus pandemic by offering a free-of-charge extension to all qualifying MG Roadside Assistance packages until the end of May. The revised policies will provide peace of mind to owners who are dependent on their car to help themselves and others during the ongoing crisis.
MG owners who took delivery of a new MG model between 23rd March 2019 and 30th April 2019 will qualify for the free extension. The marque will also lengthen service parameters for customers unable to service their car at a franchised dealer until the end of May, to account for the government’s strict guidelines on personal movement and dealership trading. Vehicle warranties will also not be affected by the restrictions on servicing.
Harvey France, Head of Aftersales and Parts at MG Motor UK, said: “Many MG customers across the country are relying on their cars for work, to access vital supplies and to care for family, friends and neighbours who may need extra support during this difficult period. We wanted to ensure that MG played its part in helping our drivers continue their hard work and thank them for all they are doing for their community. We hope this small gesture will offer reassurance to drivers and alleviate some of the stress surrounding car maintenance over the coming months.”
MG will continue to review the extension to its AA-managed roadside assistance package and vehicle service parameters, with the option to introduce a further extension if required.

The current crisis is taking a financial toll on many so any help is welcome. Whilst road traffic is substantially down there are millions of critical workers whose cars are essential to keep Britain moving and its great to see MG is helping with this effort.”
The extension follows MG’s announcement last week that it is backing the UK’s healthcare heroes by supplying 100 all-electric MG ZS EVs to NHS agencies. Each car will play a part in helping to defeat the COVID-19 virus in areas right across the country. The first six cars are already plying their trade in the north-west of England with Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Trust.
