The University of Wolverhampton’s Chancellor has offered some words of advice to Indian students attending the institution’s graduation ceremonies.
The students from Rustomjee Academy for Global Careers were in the UK for the University’s graduation ceremonies in late September.
They met with the Rt Hon The Lord Paul of Marylebone, PC, who presided over the Schools of Engineering and Pharmacy graduation ceremony.
Rustomjee is a trans-national education (TNE) partner institution, which means the students complete a University of Wolverhampton degree in their own country.
The 23 students visiting had completed degrees in International Hospitality Management and Automotive Engineering.
They shared their experiences of the course, their time in England and their career aspirations.
The Rt Hon the Lord Paul of Marylebone, PC, said: “I would like to congratulate the Rustomjee students as well as all the people who are responsible for that university. What a wonderful thing you are doing. Education in India is most important and what they are doing is a great service to the nation.”
Winny Rawal, Head of Transnational Education at Rustomjee, said: “For them it was a dream come true. They always knew the Chancellor was Lord Paul and it has been really nice of him to share so much of his time interacting with them and hearing their experiences.
“The students have been here for a week and have been to different places and have seen the University campus in its entirety, including the labs and other facilities. By being over here they get to know how good and how big the University is and they are loving it.”
Lord Paul also met with international students from India and the Ivory Coast who are studying on-campus in Wolverhampton.
Rustomjee Academy For Global Careers have been in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton since October 2017 and this is the second cohort to graduate through the partnership.
They offer University of Wolverhampton degrees in BEng (Hons) Civil and Construction Engineering; BEng (Hons) Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering; BEng (Hons) Automotive Engineering; BA (Hons) Business and Human Resource Management and BA (Hons) International Hospitality Management.
