Ridwana Wallace-Laher, the CEO of Penny Appeal, recently visited Birmingham Women’s Hospital to spread Eid cheer by delivering gifts to patients in the hospital’s antenatal, postnatal, and transitional care wards. Birmingham Women’s Hospital, one of only two dedicated women’s hospitals in the country, offers specialised services to over 50,000 women, men, and families annually.
As part of Penny Appeal’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities and spreading happiness, Ridwana Wallace-Laher personally delivered Eid gifts to patients and staff in these critical units. The transitional care ward is dedicated to supporting families with babies who have additional medical needs, including preterm and small babies, and plays a crucial role in helping mothers and babies transition home from the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Birmingham Women’s Hospital is renowned for its exceptional maternity and neonatal care services, boasting the busiest single-site maternity unit in Britain and delivering over 8,200 babies annually.
