Mohammed Yasin was 50 years old when he died from a gunshot wound at his home in Whitehall Road, Bordesley Green. The murder occurred on Wednesday, 28 September 2005. He was found near his front door.

Last September on the anniversary of their relative’s unsolved murder almost twenty years ago, the family of a man who was shot dead on a doorstep made a plea for “justice and closure.”
His family made an urgent appeal for anyone with new information to come forward. Police stated they were confident someone knew the whole story behind the killing of the 50-year-old man, and they claimed they were still looking for answers and justice.
Mohammed Yasin’s family said in a statement provided by West Midlands Police: “Mohammed Yasin was a kind and loving person to family and friends. He is dearly missed by us all. There’s not a day that goes by that we don’t think about him. We as a family need justice and closure.”
Detectives also reached out to any individual with information, regardless of how minor, to contact them because the investigation is still ongoing. Det Supt Shaun Edwards of the force homicide squad stated, “Our thoughts remain with Mohammed’s family who deserve justice and closure after enduring this pain 18 years on”
“In these circumstances no case is ever closed and will always look at new information that comes to light, no matter how small it is how much time has passed. Someone out there knows something. It might be small to you, but it could make the difference to our investigation and Mohammed’s family.
