Hrithik Roshan has been awarded the title of ‘Sexiest Male 2019’ by film fans around the world. The Bollywood star now ranks number one on this year’s 100 sexiest actors list, as released by UK-based Eastern Eye.
The 45-year-old topped the newspaper’s 16th edition and won a double whammy, by not only securing sexiest man of the year but of the decade as well. The ‘Super 30’ and ‘War’ actor has achieved profound success with his new releases earlier in the year.
Many have assigned the reason for Hrithik’s success as his well-rounded career, good physique and humble personality. He has made a name for himself in the film industry and is also the most voted for star since the Sexiest List was founded 16 years ago.
Previous 2017 winner Shahid Kapoor came in second place on the list. In third place, Vivian Dscena was awarded as not only second runner-up but as Sexiest TV Star of the year and decade as well.
Roshan’s ‘War’ co-star Tiger Shroff got a place in the list for the first time and made an impressive first-time entry at fourth place. Singer and former One Direction member Zayn Malik was in fifth place.
Speaking about his win, Hrithik said: “I would like to thank everyone who feels so and has voted for me; I am flattered.” He emphasised that he did not view his victory as an “achievement”.
He further commented: “Just a person’s looks are not relevant in the larger scheme of things. I don’t judge people by the way they look. Similarly, I don’t judge myself either by the way I look.
“What is attractive in a person is his/her story, journey and the way that person has dealt with situations in his/her own life. Looking a certain way for my characters is just a part of my job, which takes a lot of effort and hard work.”
