Renowned poet, singer, and composer Ekta Rana is set to release her highly anticipated album Colours of Love on 14th February, a perfect tribute to the universal theme of love. The album features eight soulful tracks, each capturing the diverse shades of love – from the tender warmth of motherly affection, the longing of romantic yearning, to the devotion of bhakti, and a profound connection with nature.
In this captivating collection, Ekta’s emotive voice is beautifully complemented by the musical genius of award-winning composer and producer Kuljit Bhamra. With his signature Bombay Gold Orchestra and contributions from prominent British Indian soloists, the album blends classical Indian influences with contemporary arrangements, creating a rich and immersive listening experience.
The album’s CD comes with a special 12-page songbook, which includes the lyrics of each track alongside insightful background information about the creative process and the deep inspirations behind the songs. Ekta Rana, a London-based Indian singer, songwriter, and composer, has built a reputation for seamlessly blending traditional Indian music with modern influences. Her love for music began at a young age, inspired by the timeless voices of Mohd. Rafi and Lata Ji. Beginning her formal Indian classical training at just 13, Ekta soon became a recognised talent at family gatherings and school events.
After a brief hiatus, Ekta made her return to music in 2014, working with distinguished mentors like Ustad Mehboob Nadeem and Sushma Zaveri Ji. This marked the beginning of a new phase in her musical journey. In 2019, she debuted her devotional concert Ishwar, which was met with great acclaim. The success of Ishwar continued to grow with its digital adaptation in 2020, reaching a global audience. Ishwar 2022 further solidified her place in the music world as a versatile artist blending the old with the new.
