A British barrister turned actor was caught on camera stealing the scene on the red carpet at Cannes.
The stage was set with images and video being broadcast to the globe with millions tuning in to watch their favourite celebrities and glitterati from across the globe flock to the 77th Cannes Film Festival, when the English barrister Tahir Ashraf was caught on camera waltzing to the music whilst entering the world-famous red carpet.
Scores of photographers lined the main carpet to capture and immortalise moments when people of influence graced the festival with their presence, among whom Ashraf was a first barrister turned actor who entertained the crowds of cheering fans.
Styled in a velvet tuxedo jacket and a black non-clip-on bow tie, the moment was captured on the main video being broadcast to millions across the globe who witnessed first-hand the Panama-hat-donning-sensation grace their screens completely out of the blue and dancing rhythmically to the music as though he owned the stage.
Ashraf commented, “I wasn’t aware of the main camera broadcasting me to the world, I was simply enjoying the moment of walking in the footsteps of stars from across the world”.
The festival also known as Festival de Cannes and Marche du Film which takes place every year in the south of France’s ivory coast, witnessed over 35,000 people flock to Cannes, to catch a glimpse of celebrities and filmmakers alike.
Asked about current and future silver screen projects, Ashraf commented “Cannes has been brilliant for me because I have made lifelong friends from many countries including India, with whom all I can say is that there are exciting projects heading to the screens. Who knows, perhaps even to the Festival de Cannes, so watch this space”.
